About Ruth

I am a Colorado native who lived on both the east and west coasts, before returning in 2007. Though I’m a native, I do not own a dog or a Suburu! My favorite place to be is the beach, but when I can’t be there I enjoy playing with my cat, reading, playing the piano, cooking and exploring museums and restaurants. I also took all the nature photos that you see on this website!

As a therapist, I am a compassionate listener and knowledgable guide with an ability to be gentle yet direct. It is hard to open up to someone you don’t know! I provide a safe space for exploration and thoughtful interventions that lead to healing.

My practice focuses on helping clients of all ages on a range or issues including relationships, grief and loss, trauma and PTSD, self-esteem, anxiety and shame.  I also support clients struggling with depression, disordered eating, stress related to toxic work or family environments, divorce, medical trauma, parenting and healing from physical, sexual and/or narcissistic abuse.

In addition to private practice, I have worked in several mental health settings including as a school counselor, substance abuse counselor for teens, grief counselor and in home family therapist.  I have worked extensively with immigrant, minority and refugee populations and have a deep understanding of the devastating effect that oppressive systems have on mental health.
